Samsung Galaxy A17 4G was launched at the end of the week. It is the latest budget smartphone from the South Korean company. It has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display in front that supports 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 processor. Samsung has said that its new phone will provide six major Android upgrades and six years of security updates. Such long-term software support is rare for a 4G phone. It has an IP54 waterproof rating. Incidentally, the 5G variant of the handset was launched in India in August with the Exynos 1330 chipset.

The Samsung Galaxy A17 4G model features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, which supports 90 Hz refresh rate and full-HD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,340 pixels). The phone has artificial intelligence (AI)-based features like Circle to Search and Gemini Live. It uses the MediaTek Helio G99 processor. The handset offers a maximum of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. The memory can be expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card.
For photography, the Samsung Galaxy A17 4G has a triple camera system on the back panel. It consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is a 13-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video chatting.
Samsung has put a side-facing fingerprint scanner on the phone. It has an IP54 rated chassis to prevent damage from water and dust. This 4G phone has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. The device runs on Android 15-based One UI 7 custom software. The phone is 7.5 mm slim and weighs 190 grams. The company has announced system upgrades up to Android 21 (six major) and security updates up to 2031 (six years).

There, the price of the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant of the phone has been kept at 199 euros, which is approximately equal to Rs 20,600 in Indian currency. It is worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G has been launched in India at a price of Rs 18,999. The base model has 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. On the other hand, the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB onboard storage variants are priced at Rs 20,499 and Rs 23,499 respectively.
