Qualcomm has finally launched its latest flagship mobile chip, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, today. This processor will mainly be used in Android flagship phones in 2026. Xiaomi is the first brand to launch this processor in the market with its upcoming Xiaomi 17 series. Incidentally, Xiaomi’s smartphone series will debut in China today. Earlier, Poco confirmed that the same processor will be used in its upcoming flagship smartphone.

Poco confirmed in a post on social media today that its “next-generation flagship smartphone” will have the newly unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. However, the company has not yet revealed the name of this upcoming phone. However, it has been learned from various sources that it will be the Poco F8 series.

Let us inform you that the Poco F7 Ultra model uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, the predecessor model of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. According to this logic, the new chip is logical to be in the next-generation Poco F8 Ultra. However, not much is known about this device yet.
On the other hand, the Poco F8 Pro device is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K90. It is heard that this Redmi phone will have a 6.59-inch flat RGB OLED LTPS panel, which has a resolution of 2K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Along with this, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor will be provided for security.
For performance, it may have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which Qualcomm has not yet revealed. It is also heard that the Redmi K90 phone will have a 7,100 mAh battery with 100 watt fast charging. It also features dual stereo speakers, a premium metal mid-frame, and an X-axis linear motor for improved haptics.
If the Poco F8 Pro is indeed a rebranded version of the Redmi K90 handset, then it is expected that the specifications of the Poco phone will also be similar. For now, we will have to wait until the official announcement to know which Poco phone will be launched with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
