Two Bangladeshi films have made it to the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne to be held in Australia. One is ‘Saba’ starring Mehjabeen Chowdhury and the other is Nuhash Humayun’s horror series ‘26’.
The festival will start in Melbourne on August 14 and will continue till August 24.
Directed by Maqsud Hossain, ‘Saba’ tells the story of a girl from a middle-class family in the city who struggles to get her ailing mother treated. Mehjabeen plays the title role. This is her first film.
The actress said, “‘Saba’ will be screened at the Australian Film Festival—this is good news. I hope the film will be appreciated by the audience and critics.”
On the other hand, Nuhash Humayun’s horror series ‘26’ will be screened in the From the Sub-Continent section of the festival. The stories in the fantasy, horror and mystery genres are written by Nuhash and his mother Gultekin Khan.
There are four stories in the movie ’26’. All are scary and spooky stories. The stories, told in a fun rhythm, show a different variety.
