The organization has confirmed the death of Hamas military chief Mohammed Sinwar in Gaza. Hamas announced this information on Saturday.
Last May, Israel announced that Mohammed Sinwar had been killed in its military operation. Although Hamas did not say anything about the veracity of this information at the time.
A few months after that incident, the Palestinian independence organization Hamas officially announced the death of Mohammed Sinwar. However, they did not disclose detailed information about this. They only published a photo of Mohammed Sinwar with several other commanders and wrote about them, “martyr.”
Mohammed Sinwar is the younger brother of Yahya Sinwar, the former head of Hamas and the mastermind of the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Yahya Sinwar also lost his life at the hands of Israeli forces in Rafah, Gaza in October 2024. After his death, Mohammed Sinwar took over as head of Hamas in Gaza.
After the confirmation of the death of Mohammed Sinwar, his close aide, Izz al-Din Haddad, will take over Hamas’ armed wing in Gaza. He is currently overseeing operations in the northern Gaza Strip.
