This year, the American tech giant has launched a completely new model called iPhone Air instead of the Plus variant. The main attraction of this phone is its ultra-slim design. Not only that, it is the thinnest iPhone in Apple’s history. You will be surprised to hear that the iPhone Air is only 5.6 mm slim, which makes it one of the thinnest smartphones in the world. The special features of the new iPhone include a CPU with 40 percent more performance, three times more scratch-resistant Ceramic Shield 2, all-day battery life, iOS 26 software, Apple Intelligence, IP68 waterproof rating, WiFi 7, etc. In the ultra-slim smartphone market, the iPhone Air will mainly compete with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which is 5.8 mm thin.
iPhone Air Price in India

Apple has launched the iPhone Air in India at Rs 1,19,900, which is the price of the 256 GB base storage option. On the other hand, the 512 GB storage and 1 TB storage variants are priced at Rs 1,39,900 and Rs 1,59,900 respectively. The phone is available in Sky Blue, Light Gold, Cloud White, and Space Black colour options. Pre-orders start from September 12 and deliveries will start from September 19.

iPhone Air Specifications and Features

The iPhone Air comes with a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen, which offers a 10 to 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, 3,000 nits peak brightness, 2,736×1,260 pixel resolution, HDR, Always On Display (AOD) fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, and anti-reflective coating. It has an IP68 rating, which means that water and dust will not be able to enter the phone.

Apple claims that the iPhone Air is the thinnest iPhone model ever made, which is just 5.6 mm thick. The phone is made of 80 percent recycled titanium. Ceramic Shield 2 technology has been used for the first time on the front and back. The company also said that the phone will be four times more durable and the risk of cracking will be greatly reduced.

The iPhone Air comes with a single rear camera. The 48-megapixel Fusion sensor offers f/1.6 aperture and sensor-shift optical image stabilization (OIS). The camera has Portrait Lighting with six effects, Night mode, Burst mode, Photonic Engine, True Tone flash. On the front, there is a new 18-megapixel Center Stage selfie camera. Both the back and front cameras are capable of recording 4K video in Dolby Vision format.

The iPhone Air runs on the A19 Pro chipset. It consists of a six-core CPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and a six-core GPU. It uses Apple’s new N1 chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. The phone also includes a new C1X modem, which is capable of providing twice the networking speed compared to the C1 modem used in the iPhone 16e.

The company has not revealed the battery capacity of the iPhone Air. However, it is claimed that the phone will be charged up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. According to information obtained from Apple’s official website, this phone can watch video for up to 27 hours on a full charge. The phone weighs 165 grams. Finally, let us say that it will be available only with e-SIM, that is, there will be no SIM card slot inside.
