Afran Nisho is rarely seen in public except before the release of a movie-series. How does he spend his time outside of work? The actor talked about these things in a video interview on the Facebook page of production company Alpha-I before the release of Vicky Zahed’s series ‘Aka’.

From tea at a shop to public bus
‘I really enjoy tea at a shop on the side of the road. When I go to the shop, I say, uncle, give me tea with condensed milk without sugar and raw patties. I don’t take any extra precautions for tea. I don’t think about that dirty cup, that will give me a fever – this is my experience. I say, wash it with hot water,’ Afran Nisho was saying this about drinking tea at a shop.

The actor said that he loves to go out in a hurry. If he wants to walk on the grass, he goes 300 feet. There are many canals and ponds there, if you feel like it, you can go down to take a bath.

Apart from that, he takes an Uber to experience the road, and even gets on a public bus wearing a mask! Nisho said, ‘This is a kind of preparation for me. This preparation continues, it is not for any particular character. I think that the more I am in these, as a performer or a person, the more experience I will have. Most of the time, I stay in an AC room, but sometimes I have to be in the sun. Many people have forgotten when they last saw the sky, felt the wind, but I try to experience these things at least a little.’

A bike owner in a hurry
Nisho likes to ride bikes. He has a bike with a lot of cc in his collection. Sometimes, in the scorching heat, he goes out with that bike.

‘Many people don’t ride bikes in the heat, because bikes with a lot of cc get very hot. But on the day when it is very hot, I went out with a bike. If you are in a traffic jam, these bikes can often stop in the heat, so before going out, I call a few people and say, if they stop, come. I do this strange experiment because I want to see if my body can handle this pressure or not, or how much I am getting annoyed. Many people want to know why I do this, but I don’t open up anymore,’ says Nisho.

‘Just looking at the eyes is a problem’
Drinking tea at a convenience store, taking a public bus, riding a bike on the street—don’t fans recognize me? What happens after recognition? The actor says, ‘When I go out, I don’t look at anyone’s eyes, I wear a mask. Just looking at the eyes is a problem. People recognize me when they look at my eyes, until I look at someone’s eyes, people are suspicious. No matter how much I cover my face, people understand when they see my eyes.’

Nisho mostly goes out late at night. After being recognized, many fans come to talk. He doesn’t find it annoying. However, he sets a rule. In his words, ‘The day I take pictures, I take pictures with everyone; the day I don’t take pictures, I don’t take pictures with anyone. Because, if I take someone with me, others will get upset, so I make a rule like this. Many times, we sit down to have tea in a general store. When someone comes, I explain. Some understand, some get emotional, and some even scold me.’

Leg injury
At the trailer launch of ‘Aka’, Nisho said that he has been carrying a leg injury for seven to eight years. He injured his leg while shooting for a drama in Kaula, the capital. He could not rest as advised by the doctor, and it is not possible to fully recover from that injury without surgery.

Nisho said, ‘The doctor told me to take 30 days of rest. I was able to take three days. After that, I had to return to work. Taking a break for a month during that time means becoming a criminal for a very big crime. So much work, not everyone will understand that. I was also indifferent to myself.’ Nisho said that to return to work in full swing, he will have to undergo ligament surgery.

From ‘Dagi’ to ‘Aka’
Nisho thinks that ‘Aka’ is good news for those who want to see exceptional stories and good acting from the emotional space that ‘Dagi’ has held. ‘Artists have to think about everything, what the general audience likes and what the sensitive audience wants. Because, Vicky Zahed has tried to show the incidents that happen on social media here. I think they (the audience) will enjoy it, and it will also create a feeling,’ said Nisho.

The seven-episode series ‘Aka’ will be released with a bang on September 4. Apart from this, the actor will also start shooting for Redwan Rony’s ‘Dum’.
