Nubia Z80 Ultra will debut as the successor to the Nubia Z70 Ultra launched last year.

Nubia Z80 Ultra phone launch time and specifications

ZTE Mobile Devices President Ni Fei has confirmed that the Nubia Z80 Ultra will be launched in China in October. It will come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Ni Fei also shared a sample of the Nubia Z80 Ultra’s camera on social media, confirming that it will feature a 1/1.55-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a ‘seven-element lens setup’ (translated from Chinese).

And like its predecessor, the Nubia Z80 Ultra handset will feature a full-screen display without a notch or punch-hole cutout, indicating that it will once again feature an under-display front camera. The display will offer a 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 3,000 instant touch sampling rates.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile processor was launched last Wednesday during the annual Snapdragon Tech Summit. It is built on a 3-nanometer process. The processor is claimed to offer 20 percent better performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Apart from Nubia, iQOO, OnePlus and Realme have confirmed that their upcoming flagship phones will come with Snapdragon chipsets. Xiaomi’s new Xiaomi 17 series already uses Qualcomm’s new chip.
