I was touring Mumbai, India, and seeing historical places. It was already noon. I was hungry. I told the driver, ‘It’s time to eat, let’s go to a restaurant.’
The driver Chandraprakash Upadhyay said, ‘Do you want to eat non-vegetarian or vegetarian?’
Most restaurants in Mumbai only serve vegan or vegetarian food. In the morning, you don’t get roti, luchi, kachori, vegetables or halwa like in Bengal. In Mumbai, you can get southern food like idli, dosa and bara. Mashkalai dal bara. It’s delicious to eat. So I said, ‘I’ll eat non-vegetarian. Let’s go.’
The driver Chandraprakash said, ‘Don’t mind. If you don’t mind, let’s go to Mukesh Ambani’s Ganesh Puja Mandap here. You will see it and eat prasad with it. Vegetarian Prasad.’
I learned from him that this Ganesh Puja of the house of the richest man in India and one of the richest in the world is held in a grand manner. For 11 days, a huge pavilion is built next to the puja mandap and devotees are also served prasad. Polao, vegetables, pulses, sweets and much more.

I followed the driver’s advice and arrived at Ambani’s Ganesh Puja mandap. It was past noon, so the crowd was much less. I went ahead with a leaf plate to the prasad distribution center. A huge arrangement. Various food arrangements. Whoever wants it, gets it. There were four of us in the group and our driver.
I took the prasad from the counter and sat on the chair-table next to it and received the prasad. Mukesh Ambani’s huge palace can also be seen nearby. After eating the prasad, I came out and placed that thick plate in a container in front of the mandap. Immediately, a worker picked it up and threw it into the garbage truck in front, which was immediately cleaned by a machine. We ate prasad and saw the Ambani palace or the huge house.
Mukesh Ambani’s palace is called ‘Antilia’. The 27-story house has 9 high-speed lifts. Mukesh Ambani’s private residence is up to the 7th floor of the house. There is a parking zone for 168 cars, a ballroom, a 50-seat theater hall, a garden, a swimming pool, a helipad, a spa, a health center and a temple.
This huge house is located in the Kamballa Hill area of Altamount Road in Mumbai. The height of the house is 568 feet. It was built between 2008 and 2010. It cost 2 billion US dollars. In 2023, its value was 4.6 billion dollars.
After returning from seeing Mukesh Ambani’s residence Antilia, our driver said, ‘Come on, now you will see the residences of three Bollywood stars – Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan.’ That’s right. The driver took us straight to Shahrukh Khan’s residence.
